This review was completed by our guest reviewer Tabitha Kell on behalf of Parks,Scares and Glitter, which we are very appreciative of their time to do so. Tabitha did state that they were unsure of the attraction mazes official names so if some are incorrect they apologize in advance.
After a long drive up to Redcar battling the rain and winds, I finally made my way over to Scream Factory’s Valentine 18+ event on Friday 13th February 2026. Following fellow guests (and extremely helpful hosts), I finally found the entrance where to get my ticket scanned and my coloured wrist band. Before even getting to the box office desk, we are greeted by one of the street team members, the groom, who takes the time to talk to everyone passing him as well as throw a few underlying insults at us. We got through to the open area where there was a DJ, fire place and a couple of food and drink places as well as a small street team consisting of 5 actors who were interacting with everyone whether that was scaring people or just having a conversation and finding out about their backstory. The night wasn’t busy but with such a small team it was great to see them interacting with us all as much as they could.
When it was time, my coloured wristband was called and we all gathered towards the queue line to enter the attractions. I really like the time slots/coloured wrist bands as it does cut down the time that you are waiting in line for an attraction and I think this is definitely the way forward for other scream parks. Scream Factory also use a linear line so as you exit one attraction you walk a little way to the next one which is successful but it does take away the choice you have of saying “I want to do this maze next instead of this one.” Another thing I really loved about this event is that as a solo traveler (with a teddy gingerbread stuffed in my jumper) I wasn’t mixed into another group, I was allowed to experience these attractions solo and have the attention of all the actors to myself which was fantastic.

Maze 1 – My Bloody Valentine
Once I entered into the attraction I was greeted by a pig faced masked man called Grant, he had a great presence and wasn’t afraid to get into my personal space. He led me into a pen where I stayed for a very long time occasionally coming into the pen to play with me and tease me. I eventually met another actor who wore an apron and boxers speaking with a German accent. He came into the pen with Grant and we had a lovely little conversation which included the teddy gingerbread. I eventually got led into another room with the German actor which had a giant penis with cum dripping down it going up and down in a box, after a few moments of interacting with this actor, I got sent on my way into the main attraction. This was an extremely strong opening maze with bright colours and plenty of immersion, comical and sexual elements to which I was even gifted a balloon dog by one of the clowns inside this maze. The actors were strong and not afraid to get up close and get in my personal space. The only thing that made this maze fall flat was the finale; we had chainsaw noises as well as a lone chainsaw, tethered to a rope on the floor but no actor in there which was disappointing after such a strong opening maze.
Maze 2 – I didn’t get the name of this maze so I’ll call it the Pig maze.
Unfortunately I don’t have anything positive to say about this maze as it felt very last minute and there was no immersion in here. It was like a shipping container with lots of barrels in here with low energy acting (actors just stepping forward then backwards) and no variation in what was said, I heard “fresh meat coming through” and variations of that multiple times, it was also lacking actors in here too. Maze 3 – Candy’s Love shack/Medical Hospital
We had a strong storytelling opening here telling us about Candy’s Love Shack that you are going to venture into and eventually meet Candy and if I’m lucky I can become one of her girls (if you know what I mean) the first part of the maze is set in Southern State America. There are some fantastic stalker scares in here as well as a lot of comedic and adult themes in here with the hillbillies trying to have sex with you throughout. I did get jump scared by a female actor in the Love shack which was great as I’m not an easy person to make jump. I eventually made my over to Candy in an outdoor section of the maze and after being made to dance sexually for her, I got a stamp on the hand of her approval. The storytelling and comical elements here are fantastic as well as the sexual elements that make up this maze. We are then headed into a hospital section of the maze, which had a lot of sexual references as well as sound tracks of people having sex throughout; the nurses were all some kind of dominatrixs with their own paddles or small floggers. The theming in the hospital section was fantastic especially the bodies on the wall with medical bags coming out of them and the rooms were completely immersive. I did find the hospital section of Candy’s Love Shack a bit confusing as it was a big change from what I was going through before with the hillbillies and I felt these two sections should have been separated rather than being put together as it didn’t really make sense as to why you went from Hillbillies to English Doctors and Nurses.
Maze 4 - The Strangest Things
This maze played homage to the hit TV show Stranger Things so it’s a great if you’re a fan of the TV show. The theming and set in here was phenomenal and there was a mixture of strong and weak actors in here (like being told to “get out” because I confused the actor). The maze is extremely immersive with some really comical moments like between the doctor and sperm that felt up the inside of my legs and then tried getting into the vagina on the wall but couldn’t get over the small wall between them and the vagina. They had a really clever moment of having an actor above us at one point but I do feel like they missed a trick by not reaching down and stroking my hair as it would have been a great scare from them. I loved the use of multiple vagina tunnels within the attraction though they were very short but I felt the smoke room finale was a bit of a cop out like the final room wasn’t ready so they filled it with smoke to hide that fact, whether this is the case or not, I don’t know but it was a bit of a let-down for the finale.
Maze 5 – Cream Factory
The hooded maze……. I am not the biggest fan of hooded mazes as I feel that they are lazy and I have never experienced a good one, unfortunately this is no exception. The opening with the two actors I met were fantastic, really great storytellers, very interactive and then came the hood (which fit over me and my gingerbread teddy who was having the best time ever) held onto the rope and made my way forward. There was very little interaction in here, maybe two actors in here and one of them kept standing in front of me so I walked into them about three times, there was minimal contact with me as I was walking around. I eventually came to the end of the hooded part of the maze where I met a bloodied up priest and a guy in a wedding dress where after some interaction with them, I agreed to marry to the guy in the wedding dress who was then announced as my sex slave by the priest and as an argument ensued from the actors, I got sent on my way to go through a vortex tunnel and eventually made my way outside for one final scare, a chainsaw finale with the guy hiding away and jumping out behind me. Despite me not running away, I did compliment the guy for doing such a good job and it being a strong finale as I walked back into the open area where the street team and food vendors were.

As I walked back out I had the Bride, who I had lovely conversations with earlier, come and interact with me again as well as Jingles the Jester interact with me after the bride had said her goodbyes. After my conversations with these two characters who were definitely my favourite on the street team, I made my way back to my hotel with a smile on my face. Scream Factory’s Valentine event was a fantastic event overall. It wasn’t a scary event though probably more uncomfortable for some (in a good way); it was more immersive, comedic storytelling within the attractions which was had loads of love/lust/sexual elements with a pinch of scares and horror elements. I highly recommend this event and I will be trying to attend the 18+ event at Halloween. One final note is that I would like to thank all cast and crew on the night for a very entertaining evening. The event is now over but if you are interested in keeping an eye on Halloween 2026 offerings, you can do so at the link below. https://www.screamfactory.co.uk
