Alton Towers: A Year of Events and More!

Like we did when Thorpe park announced their event line up, we will be taking a look at what Alton Towers have to offer this year but its not just events that have been announced by the park, so in this blog post we are going to look at everything we have seen and lets start with Cbeebies Land.

Cbeebiees land is the park's area dedicated to all things Cbeebies so its ideal for the younger members of the family and this year this area of the park will see 3 new attractions in Hey Duggee's Big Adventure Badge, Andy's Adventures Dinosaur Dig and Jojo and Gran Gran at home. All three attractions are designed for hands on play and learning from the descriptions and we are sure will be a hit with younger guests.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any new big rides and attractions coming to the park in 2022 for the thrill seeker but the park has today confirmed that two of the three Retro Squad rides will be back in 2022. The only one our of the three not returning is Mixtape.

Alton Towers is set to bring its event line up after realising that people love the events. In total there will be 5 events during the theme park season as well as the annual Christmas event. The first event in the schedule is Festival of Thrills.

Festival of Thrills will run between the 4th of April and the 6th of May and will be a celebration of the parks roller coasters. Whilst not a lot of detail about what the event will actually entail we are aware, thanks to the parks own description of the event, that each of the seven big roller coasters will have its own live music. We are very intrigued by this event that is for sure.

The second event of the year at Alton Towers will be the return of Mardi Gras. This event proved popular when it launched last year. The vibrant and colourful event that celebrates the party atmosphere of New Orleans will also return with food and drink inspired by the area. As well as that, the 'Krewe's' will be returning to the park bringing their energy and spirit to their floats. This event will run form the 21st May until the 19th June.

For the lovers of beer and Bavarian vibes than the return of Oktoberfest will excite the senses as this event returns for its 3rd year. Soak up the sounds and smells of the Bavarian inspired area as the front lawns are transformed. The vibe of this event has always been really fun and upbeat and we are excited its returning. This event will run from the 10th September until the 2nd October when its time for one of the parks most popular event.

I am of course talking Scarefest and the park have already confirmed that they plan on celebrating their 15th year with a bang, or should that be a Boo. The park is already promising a brand new scare maze. We don't currently know if this maze will be joining the line up or replacing an existing maze, for that information we will have to wait a bit longer. What we do know is that the event will run 7th - 9th and 14th - 30th October this year and the park will be open until its usual 9pm.

The last event in the parks season is Fireworks. This iconic event is the perfect way to round of the theme park season at the park. This doesn't really need any explanation other than this event will run 4th - 6th November.

And there we have it. That is everything we've noticed that is happening at Alton Towers this year. Ar you excited for this years offering? For more information and to book tickets you can visit the Alton Towers website.
