Statfold Scream Park 2026
While we were very kindly gifted press passes for the event including fast-track to the attractions, we retail the editorial control of the review.
Our Slasher Review
On the 22nd of October 2026 we visited Statfold Scream Park near Tamworth. The Event is hosted at Statfold Country Park. Statfold Scream park holds 4 scare attractions, those being The Offering and End Of The Line which both are returning attractions from 2025's opening year, The park also has 2 new attractions for 2026 which are Killbilly Hoedown Showdown and Chins Playhouse. Statfold Scream Park also has a good collection of roamers to encounter on your night and an interesting selection of food to have too. From Chicken Goujons and loaded Jacket Potatoes to Caribbean Curried Goat and Steak Sandwiches, You can also expect fire performers, A live band and stilt walkers too. Continuing with the train and fairground museum theme there is a selection of modern rides as well. Statfold Scream Park is constructed in a relatively short time and we believe the attractions are not year round installations, so we will take that into consideration on the Stalker Review. Our Strongest attraction of the night would possibly be The Offering, with End of the Line coming up short on our respective run, but again we will go into detail on that shortly. We will say however that the hospitality on the night was top level and we really appreciate the effort made in The Arena and use of the theming elements around the park.

Top tips-Unless things change by the time of your reading this, do not be put off by End of the Line's warnings spiel, we found it to be a quite over dramatized for what we came across in the attraction sadly.
Things that bite-Again with End of the Line, It has an absolutely fantastic and unique concept but the transportation element is the most bored I've ever been in a scream park.
Value for money-Ok we have to be honest and fair, it all depends what kind of scares you are after but for what they offer for £25-£27 for general admission and entrance to scares, we think that is good value.
Scare rating- Based on our runs on the night is 3 out of 5.
Do we recommend-This all depends on what you are looking for, if you want hardcore impact scares that make you want to run, this might not be for you, but if you are looking for a good spooky night out with a step from family to more older demographic thrills then I think you will get on fine.
Our Stalker Review
On Thursday 22nd of October 2026 we headed west with our guest reviewer of the night Alex to just outside Tamworth to take on a scare attraction that is still in its newer era being only in its second year and one that we had heard some interesting things about, That is of course Statfold Scream Park. We started the night by joining the other invitees in the Arena, An Indoor space opposite the scream park where we were given complimentary drinks to begin with, the hospitality staff are some of the best I've come across in a scream park. Cheery and excited to see us yet equally as professional, It was after this that we met two dear friends of Parks Scares & Glitter, Lou (Loucifer) and Gareth, we had a wonderful catch up and decided to head into the park with our friends, so starting as a group of 3 we were now in a group of 5. After about 40 minutes from our arrival we were greeted by the head of Statfold Scream Park who explained a little about this years attractions and the reason behind some of the changes made. This an informative speech but felt relaxed enough to not have you get bored or feel clinical in approach. After the speech we were handed our press passes and meal vouchers which was a lovely touch and was very much appreciated. Then it was time to head into the scream park itself.
This was the first interaction we had of one of the strangest but well played roaming/ feature characters We've ever met, that being of course Chins for those that don't know is the largest and creepiest toddler you will ever meet but has clearly maintained a reputation and status at the park and we can see why.

Now we didn't really know our way around the park but Lou and Gareth luckily did and we headed to our first attraction of the night was the new for 2026 Killbilly Hoedown Showdown. From the outside the Hoedown Showdown might not look like much the story by the host reeled us in. It was time for a music festival celebrating the Deep South and although we had gained access to the event we were hardly welcome unless we could find a way to fit in amongst the Hillbilly revelers. This like all the other attractions has a great concept and a well thought out theme and back story. The set design was equally well thought out including a baggage/ security check looking for contraband being smuggled in, only to hopefully use said contraband themselves. As we made our way though the scenes of the festival there were a good mix of sustained and impact scares, admittedly not all impacts landed but it's night one and you could see the effort was there. Another scene that was not expected was a prize show which provided some great interaction and a toilet/urinal scare that sprayed guests with water, the finale of the attraction left a little to be desired, we could see all the ideas and scare tactics the park wanted to use as this was the part of the story (where I believe) where our efforts to blend in had failed and we were met by our Hillbilly executioner armed with his shotgun, I think this scene would have worked better if this section wasn't so open as the exit to to attraction felt rather obtainable rather than feeling lured into a trap. We did appreciate this varied styles of Hillbillies in the attraction but alot of the nuances did seem a little repetitive, mainly the sniffing interactions. Maybe a bit more variety of these elements would make the cast shine even more.

Next up was The Offering which unlike a traditional scare maze was a 1.5km woodland walk, let me just say I wasn't expecting much from this attraction based on first impressions or the little I knew about the premise. But I can also say I was very wrong. Right from the start of the attraction it felt so unbelievably eerie and spooky, a theme that Statfold does very well, It kind of reminded me of The Blair Witch meets The Welcoming. And although the set was simple, it was effective and worked, The scares were alot more varied in The Offering leading you to find it hard to anticipate where these interactions would come from. There was also a small variety of victim roles and antagonist roles along the walk including the most strangely unhinged moment featuring the chainsaw but the way it was played out was so jolly that it was bordering on slightly psychotic. The Offering has many sections along the route utilizing hessian, jute and cloth hangings providing perfect places for the cast to run behind or jump out of at any given time. My only critique of the story is that it is supposed to be ( as I understand ) about a coven of woodland witches come back to finish a ritual that we are now part of, whether or not that part of the narrative was obvious is down to interpretation. I was expecting to walk in on a coven scene near the end or some paganistic characters but it mainly seemed to be victims of the cult, or victims turned twisted. There was a great scene featuring a ram skull adorned actor which has to be mentioned too, they delivered some great sustained scares, I was hoping for a little more of a run out scene as the exit is connected to the entrance area and seeing guests fleeing at speed would ramp up the anticipation of guests about to go in, Once again the themes, stories and concepts are there, it is creepy and atmospheric, absolutely. But is it a terrifying experience from start to end, probably not. But in this case I think that creepy and creating unease is something that Statfold Scream Park has really nailed.
2 Attractions down and it was time for some food, Now we did have a meal voucher which was very appreciated but I can say with all honesty if we had paid for our meals, none of us would be disappointed. I think it was £8 for a loaded jacket potato with chilli and £12 for the curried goat with rice and peas, slaw and a giant bready dumpling thing, the food was beautiful and the staff were ever so helpful and engaging.
Food digested it was time to enter maze three of the night the New for 2026 Chin's Playhouse. But before we headed in we met with Daisy one of the fantastic clown cast of roamers at Statfold Scream Park , she had her interaction down to an art and look great delight in picking on Danes hat calling him "Shein Hat" every time she saw him which was hilarious to the point instead of saying say cheese on the photo she said Say "Shein". Then we had another interaction with Chins which Dane got a hug despite being absolutely horrified by them and we headed into the play house. We were told that Chins wanted to celebrate and play all year round, that being Christmas, Halloween, Easter, etc. and the themes within would show that. The first scene was Christmas, while we could see what they were going for it felt a bit more like a garden centre grotto than a scare attraction. Fair play though to the guy making out he was being burned alive by the bulbs while strapped to a Christmas tree and accosted in the lights. Another scene was Oktoberfest, unfortunately this was only recognizable by the blue and white checkered bunting until we met the Oktoberfest dancer who put us through our paces. As we ventured further into the playhouse we met a room full of giant Easter bunnies, Now this kind of scare rarely gets me but credit where its due the cast member in this room landed the scare perfectly and genuinely made me jump out of my skin. The Halloween scene while beautiful didn't have much in scares that we noticed and the finale was a party scene with a poor victim of Chin's being forced to dance to death. It bares repeating but Ill say it again, the concepts are there but its just the fine tuning of the scares and tactics within that need slightly tightening up. The girl in the final scene was trying their best give a finale scene and I will say she did have great energy, but the one thing we all agreed was lacking was the titular Chins. I think if Chins had been in the scene as well, clapping along almost distracted away from the guests, focusing on the girl right until the guests try and leave the playhouse and then turning on the guests initiating a run out would have been a much more coherent ending.

Finally it was time for the last attraction and one which was promised to be the most intense, End of the Line. (Train Journey)After a little wait outside the entrance we were ordered onto a real train platform. After about another 10 minutes a steam train appeared out of the darkness, This was definitely not something we had experienced before and it made quite an impression, We boarded the train and headed off into the darkness and the unknown ahead, Then the light went out in the carriages putting everyone on edge, Unfortunately this unease was misplaced. Im not sure exactly how long we were on the train for but it felt alot longer than what it probably was, it felt like a good 15 minutes, An audio story was played out during our journey but due to the natural sounds of the train itself alot of the dialogue was completely lost which just made our night time journey an exercise of boredom, We did catch a bit about a virus and that we were trying to escape this infection but other than the audio...nothing else happens on the long countryside excursion. We was expecting a moment for the train to stop, maybe a tunnel on the route or some kind of set piece to add to the theme(we understand this might not be possible due to the use in the day) or even a scene where the train is boarded by the infected but none of the such came. After first half of the uneventful trip we were told we were turning round to make our escape through the boiler house, this would have been fine had we not seen the platform and open entrance to attraction that we travelled back past, Maybe killing the lights on the platform as you pass through would add an element of confusion to the journey as going back through where you started before reaching the height of the infection made little sense to the story and no reason that we could hear was really given about why we couldn't just get off where we started, Maybe if the audio had a take over that we were not being allowed to exit and rather forced and led to the boiler house would work better.
Another thing that completely killed the immersion for us was going past the back door areas of the site where I Actually saw a staff member on their phone as we went by with the door to the building wide open. When the train eventually stopped we found ourselves trapped in our carriage, not by purpose but that of the old carriage doors getting jammed ,(Main Maze)When we finally made our way off the train we headed down another platform to join the 2 queues, Standard and Fasttrack for the maze portion of the attraction. Walking down past people waiting to go in the boiler house section kind of killed the theme a little , Maybe if there was a way to hide the queue line, just some fencing , tarp or a some kind of tempory tunnel this might help eliminate this issue. The one saving grace of this waiting section was that of the "Station Master" I think they were using some really strong sustained scares to intimidate the people waiting to go in, We were then told by the host that this is the most intense scare attraction on the site, the infected within will touch you, grab you and try and split you up, also that there was a crawl scene too. This sounded so promising , As you make your way through The Boiler House /End of the Line main maze you can see the effort that has gone in and its bar far the most traditional and scary in design attraction at the park. There were some standout members of the cast , Mainly the scares that come from above and the cast member in the cook scene who was beautifully hands on , but as in the interaction that we were expecting from the briefing, this was sadly as hands on as it got, the cast were more stalky than chaotic and the hands on aspect was well and truly lost, Im not saying the cast was bad at all, They just needed a boost in energy to match the surroundings and area they were in. There was some fantastic make up in this attraction too, but if you are going to advertise an attraction as touching, grabbing a splitting up, then you need to make sure this happens more than twice. The strobe finale area is well thought out but not nearly as claustrophobic as it could be leading do the cast not really being close enough to deliver the kind of scares that you are warned about, The most we got of scares in the strobe finale was staring, hissing and the occasional screams, this needed to be a crescendo of chaos, intimidation and pure fear which sadly it was not on our run. But we will say the "Taser" sticks were a fun addition. The Concept once again was there and it might have been opening night jitters but sadly End of the Line fell very flat for me once beyond the more chaotic interactions near the beginning.
And so ended our night at Statfold Scream Park , to summarize if you are looking for fear that makes you want to run and hide then this might not be for you, however if you are new to scares or get scared very easily and the likes of the bigger Scream Parks are too much for you, then this could be a great stepping stone to these type of attractions. I'm not saying we had a bad night, far from it , you can see the vision and the unique nature they are going for and hopefully if they can take the critiques on board then this really could be an event to look out for. I will make a note to say set wise what is created in the time frame they are given is actually pretty spectacular so credit where it's due. Thank you to all the cast, crew, staff and creatives behind Statfold Scream Park, We can see what you are trying to do and we love you for it, trying something new and unique is always a learning curve but we wish you every success going ahead and look forward to seeing how your event progresses.
