The Forgotten Corner Review

Our Slasher Review

The Forbidden Corner’s Forgotten Corner Halloween event returns with a major step up from last year, with a completely new route, creative scares, and eccentric characters that make the experience unpredictable and immersive. The actors bring the event to life with their mix of comedy, intensity, and brilliant improvisation, keeping guests both laughing and terrified. The unique setting and adventurous layout add to the fun, though visitors should be ready for tight spaces and uneven ground. The night wraps up with a humorous encounter with Mr Fungi, leaving the experience on a lighthearted note. Overall, The Forgotten Corner is a relentless, hilarious, and thrilling event — one of my top picks of the scare season

Our Stalker Review

Halloween, the spookiest night of the year, saw us venture to the strangest place in the world as we returned to The Forbidden Corner for their Forgotten Corner event. Last year this event took us by complete surprise with the sheer volume of scares we experienced so this year we were excited to get back. The event is only is in its second year now but my god, it’s like they have been doing scare events for many years.

Everything has changed from last year. There is a whole new route to explore with a plethora of new characters to meet along your adventure through the labyrinth of walkways, mazes and tunnels. The event starts before you even arrive as you get terrorised by Mr Popcorn. After you sign in you wait with (who I believe is called) Mallow who is just as hilariously abusive as always, though we only got to chat with her after as she was on break when we arrived, but our host was just as lively and hilarious.

The route takes you through pretty much the entirety of this unique attraction, including some areas that we’ve never been through in its normal day time mode, so it was fun to experience these as well. It’s the events uniqueness with its already in place set pieces that really makes it feel like an adventure through the weird and wacky as you really don’t know what to expect around the corners. Just be aware you will be walking through tight spaces, up and down stairs, over stepping stones and up and down hills so wear appropriate footwear and clothing.

Let’s talk actors. The actors here are unhinged in the best possible way. They all use their spaces so extremely well and they will scare you relentlessly. There’s actors who are comedic, some who are high energy and some who just give stand there and are intimidating. There really is such a wide variety of different scares that come your way that it is a relentless hour of scares. You will get split up, you will get touched (in an appropriate way like being moved) and you will be screaming as the team of actors they have are bloody phenomenal. Their improv skills when having a bit a banter is just brilliant and we were in equal fits of laughter and terror. I can not fault a single actor as they were all amazing and Forbidden Corner really have given them an opportunity to just go for it. The event also has a fun character at the end called Mr Fungi, he’s an absolutely fun-guy with some brilliant dad jokes that had me howling.

The Forgotten Corner is a treacherously  terrifying night out with scares galore. It’s relentless, hilarious and has become one of my absolute favourite events of scare season.
