Our Slasher Review.
Xtreme Scream Park located at Twinlakes Park on the outskirts of Melton Mowbray was our destination on Saturday the 18th of October 2025. It was a sell out night and luckily we had purchased fast track for our evening which in the end proved very beneficial and we would highly recommend doing the same if you want to fit in all the action and atmosphere. The scream park features 7 scare attractions. Those being Circus vs Circursed, The Witches of Hard Luck Wood(Now no longer hooded), Pie Factory, Ash Hell Penitentiary, The Village, New for last year and award winning Blutlust and the new for 2025 Spores. The park has really upped the festival atmosphere in comparison to past years with the main area at the back of the park really coming alive as the portal for 4 of the 7 attractions and we really appreciated this effort made, There is a plethora of food and drinks options available in this area, as well as live entertainment. Xtreme Scream Park also has two rides on offer too.

Judging through our runs of the night the top maze that stole all the spotlight is the incredible Blutlust, And sadly the weakest attraction of the night was Witches of Hard Luck Wood. The Village was very close to the top spot but Blutlust really has to be seen to be believed, it honestly blew us away with its set design, dedicated cast members and great use of misdirection. Unfortunately Witches of Hard Luck Wood seemed to have the least cast members within and sadly it impacted the experience compared to the other attractions. The Village had an exceptionally strong night with all 5 areas delivering scares. And Ash Hell gave a very intense run too. It has to be mentioned though that although the batching was very quick and we did catch up with guests ahead in multiple mazes, all the cast members in the respective attractions gave it their all and worked scares down the line rather than being front focused, So kudos for all the team for working so hard on such a busy sold out night.
Top Tips- For £20 extra fast track really is the way to go if you are visiting on a weekend like we was, especially so if it ticks over to a sold out night. Over the space of 7 very long attractions you will be spending approximately just under £3 per maze. Also do your research online , Xtreme Scream has a strong narrative online of the attractions backstories.
Things that bite- With the exception of Pie Factory, Spores and Blutlust, there isn't much of a designated route for the fast track queue which means you literally have to walk down a the side of the whole queue line and stand to the side which makes you feel a bit out of place and rude to people in the main line. Also the loaded fries near Ash Hell were a very small portion for the 9.99 each we paid.
Value for Money-We have based this on our experience using the fast track and for £58.00 for entry and fast track we had a great night, But even if you don't get fast track the mazes alone are worth the entry fee.
Scare Rating- We are giving a respectable 4.5 out of 5 simply because Witches of Hard Luck Wood was so sparse of scares, but every other attraction had their defining moments, again it wasn't that Witches was 100% bad, just in comparison to the other attractions it fell a bit.
Do we recommend-For Blutlust alone, 110% YES.
Our Stalker Review
On the 18th of October we visited Xtreme Scream Park at Twinlakes Park near Melton Mowbray, We could tell from the long stream traffic we were to be in for a busy night at the park. But luckily we had purchased the fast track which was a very good choice and totally worth the extra £20. Knowing from past experience that Xtreme Scream Park doesn't really do short attractions and with the night advertised as a sell out, we knew the queues would be big. If you visit on a sell out night you can usually expect the maze closures to be extended from 10:30 to 11:30. After a very quick spot through security we got our tickets and headed into the park.

First change we noticed was huge amount of "festival" atmosphere in the main hub area at the back of the park that serves for the entrance portals for 4 of the 7 attractions. The queues were already building so we decided to head to our first attraction Ash Hell Penitentiary , within minutes we were in the attraction and scares came quick and fast right from the first corridor, the lighting really plays to the actors advantage, while not a strobe but a 3 seconds on 2 seconds off really allows the actors to deliver some surprising scares and move around in the dark, another scene that was very memorable which I haven't seen for a few years now is the inmate with the spark bar. This area got alot of screams and even some applause from our group. Ash Hell plays very heavily on building tension and another area that does that is a particular corridor with very high open "doors" either side, you know there is going to be an actor in hiding somewhere but with a combination of the lighting and the low visibility, it is really hard to work out just when the scare will happen, the plant room with a vibrating floor always gets a good scream or laugh and tonight was no exception. As we ventured further in the prison facility we came to the duck down area with some very brave leg grabs that caught us all off guard. As we headed towards the home stretch we entered the cells, ducking down between walls to enter the claustrophobic sets within. And then a final scare with a big central cage, This is the only thing I would change, I think the spark bar would work to even better effect being used at the end of the attraction rather than the beginning and would deliver a really good lasting final scare to the run. Ash Hell although dealing with alot of guests with approximately 10 seconds of reset time really did deliver and the entire cast worked so hard to land their respective scares. A great start to the night.

Next up was The Village, now as I mentioned before having some kind of separate line for the fast track would have made walking down the side of the huge queue line a little less anxiety inducing, but that aside after a very short wait it was time to enter. First up is the house, an area relatively untouched by the scarecrows, it serves as a great start to the attraction with some well timed automated scares alongside cast scares too. Shoutout to the cast member in the kitchen scene who completely caught Abby off guard, that timing was perfect. And also to the actor who put Dane in the cage for his scarecrow close up moment. Next up was the garage, now again the batching was very fast, but understandable as it was a sell out night and although we did find ourselves reaching the group in front by the second building, the cast worked exceptionally hard given the tight space of the sets in that area. Dane found himself victim again of one of the scarecrows by the work bench. Unfortunately we did miss a couple of the automated scares in this area due to the reset time but again the all the cast were working there backsides off to deliver scares, After a short walk through the woods we found ourselves at set 3 of The Village being the school. The droll audio announcer in the entrance to the school had us in stitches while the teacher in the back classroom delivered some expert impact and sustained scares. The one area we all agree needs to be looked at is the chalkboard scare , not to be crude but lets just say there was some slight boob touching and not just in our group. But I'm not sure how well the actor in the area can see but still maybe a shoulders approach would be better. Time for area 4 the Lab . This is a very strobe heavy area and can be a little over the top, but once again the scares landed as intended even through the group was very big, we also noted some room changes which was nice to see since our last visit a few years back. Finally it was on to the finale, the church. The last time we were here this is where you would meet professor crow, now back in the lab, but this time round a new reverend lay in wait and I may be biased but they delivered the script as intended with an imposing and commanding manner. The Scarecrows in the pews played to the misdirection perfectly and hell broke loose at the storm. The final scene in the vestry sees the return of an unexpected but highly skilled scare if you look in the right location. The Village once again was on top form and I couldn't be happier with that run. Praise The Harvest!

Next up an attraction we hadn't done before Circus Vs Circursed. This as you can imagine is their Clown attraction. Starting strong with the opening story with the ringmaster we believe, this set the scene and the story for what was to come, I kind of wish all the mazes had something like this as Xtreme go to great detail with their backstories, mostly online but if you was a first time visitor you might not get the full narrative as intended. But if you are reading this and haven't been through yet, I highly advise you read the back stories online, That aside Circus vs Circursed is a fun, energetic attraction with plenty of colour and great use of UV. The sets are wild and range from neon junkyard to an abandoned soft play area to even a section for their very own Art the Clown complete with a woman split down the middle, alot of attention to detail had gone into the attraction which in its scare zone predecessor felt more of a filler. But this time round it is clearly a stand alone attraction. Some moments that stand out was Dane having to start car engine as random as that is and the cast member who saw our PSG Lanyards and shouted "Ooooooh Professionals" that gave us all a good laugh and I think that is what you need in a clown maze, all scare actors worth their credit know that if you can't scare someone, make them laugh instead and clowns have never really scared us and it was great to see the cast not giving up trying, don't get me wrong that's not to say we didn't have some great jump scares because we did and if you don't like clowns this is going to be a nightmare fuel maze for you, but for us it has never really been a trope that filled us with excitement but we did also love the nod to Curtains Chaos in the middle of the maze. After exciting the indoor section there is one final outdoor run complete with a couple of old small rides and even a duck down section under some abandoned slide tubing, it really added to the lost fun house/circus theme Again the cast did have a challenge ahead of them with the 10/20 second gaps between groups but they didn't let it phase them and rose to the battle ahead.

We decided now would be a good time to have some food, here is where things turn a little sour, We opted for the "loaded fries" the xtremley cheesy ones at £9.99 each. To say we were disappointed by the standard of that outlet would be an understatement, the portion was tiny and the cheese sauce looked like something you would get in hospital under the disguise of soup. Chips had it was time to head for the NEW for 2025 Spores. The first thing we appreciated that that Spores has a dedicated fast track queue which made things alot easier. And after a short wait , 40 seconds at most we headed into the attraction, or rather onto the attraction. The opening scene of Spores is genius and I have to say we was not expecting movement in this scene. We were told a short and albeit very quiet back story of the mystery tour we were taking but unfortunately not actually told of what was to be expected within, just about the sasquatch of all things. A great opening scene but also a missed opportunity, this could have been down to the very quick guest turnaround and I imagine on a quieter night you might have time for more story. But luckily for us I had read the back story on line and was aware of the basics of the theme. If you are familiar with The Last of Us and the Cordyceps you will understand where this maze is going.
Now this is a very long attraction and it is hard to remember all the key point as they all kind of meld together into one. But like we have said before despite being a busy night all the cast in their respective roles played them to perfection, be it the people whom where trying to save us from the infected or the infected themselves. One part we would change as it made all of us feel very queasy is the speed of the vortex tunnel, having gone through many of these before this is the first time that it made all of our group start to feel quite sick, partly due to not moving through the tunnel but we will say kudos to the cast member who worked this area, we are not sure how you did it over and over again so congratulations to you who ever you are. But we also did wonder what the vortex tunnel added to the story, other than were we succumbing to the infection of the spores, maybe if the tunnel had been themed more to the infection rather than coloured neon spots it would make more sense.
As you head deeper into the infected areas that are all beautifully themed you will find yourself in a maze of roots of such. This area was a great little section that really does make you feel lost. Towards the exit you will find yourself ducking the over grown roots of the infected and see some grisly outcomes of the infected themselves, The only thing the attraction seems to be missing is a sense of finale, maybe we missed something but we just kind of walked out and the story felt a little unfinished. But again there may have been a cast member that we just didn't see due to reset time. But there is a chainsaw in this area too , so maybe that was it. I think we have just been terrorised by so many chainsaws over the years that they have to get real close now to have impact. Again not the attractions fault , just our tolerance I guess, To sum up, the attraction has a super strong start, great length as in keeping with all the attractions at the park, some absolutely fantastic set design. And a killer cast too, what's not to like. We then stopped to sample some of the entertainment on offer, now I don't know what it is called but the guy who did a set with a giant hula hoop was amazing to watch, the skill they must have to make sure they don't fly off the stage is unreal and the upper body strength at the end of the set provided the perfect finale.

Time for the longest running attraction at the park, Pie Factory. This attraction has always been a firm favourite and has a reason that it has yet to be retired, the classic pig maze that always hits big. The attraction started off strong with the opening cast member being creepily quiet while sizing us up for pies and then on the outside section we had some great banter with another cast member, After finding out Danes name , cheekily saying to me "He will be screaming your name tonight". Pie Factory has always been a hive of innuendo and we love them for it. Admitted like the other attractions it wasn't too long until we found ourselves meeting the group ahead, 15 seconds between batching isn't fantastic but the actors in Pie Factory didn't let this hinder their work, even finding a moment to separate Dane from the group and send him to the other side of the room. A great fun moment that was not expected, Pie Factory has gone through multiple changes through the years and still feels relevant to this day, the attraction uses great use of smells within too, some meaty, some downright vile. Another scene we enjoyed was walking through the oven complete with red glowing bars, the cast member in the fridge plays the victim role very well and even when that side didn't always land, they switched up to a more sinister approach, almost like they had lost their minds in regards to their fate. Pie Factory has some very strobe heavy areas so be aware of that and the hands section is no exception, weaving round the wooden walls, the cast members in here landed some impressive scares. Now for a downside as we near the end of the attraction, what was once a swallowing long airbag run as now served as a deflated corridor where not much really happens, a bit of a shame to see, maybe in future this area could be rethemed to some kind of production line. Now it was time for the final run , a strobe heavy crate maze building up tension for the final chainsaw scare, this area was a little difficult to see you way through which we understand is the point, but I think at one point I walked straight into the wall. The poor cast member on chainsaw honestly was really trying their best but due to the amount of people walking out there wasn't much time for interaction. Again not the person on this roles fault, just a unfortunate effect of a sell out night, but some we've seen in other theme parks shall we say have given less effort with smaller groups so kudos to the person for really trying their best. Some areas could be a tad stronger in comparison to the other attractions but again the cast really had an uphill battle on the night.

Time for another attraction we had yet to do, the award winning Blutlust, Naturally this attraction had a lot to live up to and by god did it meet and even surpass expectations. Blutlust starts outside of a German albeit greasy spoon kebab shop. The first interaction with the inhabitants of this attraction do well to set the scene, you are told if you want to go to the party , order a 63 With special sauce. The door is then opened and into the shop you go, the door slammed behind you the first thing you will notice is the smell of onions and I mean it is strong! and then you realise the hot plate in front of the kebab owner is full of real onions which is used for a great gross out moment, the person who plays this role does so, so well and has to be commended for keeping up this great opening to what would prove to be an absolute stand out of an attraction. After ordering the 63 with special sauce we are sent into a secret passage themed to a meat storage area before exiting to an underground street complete with neon lights and the bustle of the vampires within. These are the vampires we like, gothic, leather clad and not afraid to get in your personal space, we were taken to a section with 3 doors, O , A and B signed above them, Dane was first in while i was made to wait, taunted by the vampires who play their roles with absolute perfection, with Dane gone Abby was sent away, this was great to see that these kinds of scenes were still being played out even though it was a very busy night. Finally my time came and I was sent down the O Room. As soon as the door shut behind me an powerful impact scare came from the front and was walked away to another room and told that I wasn't going anywhere and ordered to stand with my hands on the wall, que the next interaction I wasn't expecting being flogged by a dominatrix vampire who repeatedly asked if id been a good boy or a naughty boy, in my head I was thinking this kind of interaction has come a day early, that will make sense after tomorrow. I wasn't expecting this level of interaction on such a busy night and was great to see all the cast pulling out all the stops. After my flogging I was allowed to enter the club and what a fantastic scene this is, complete with stage and podium, while not a big scare area so to speak it did provide greatly to the theme and the story of the vampire nightclub so it has to be mentioned. Leaving the club the attraction starts to really use misdirection to great effect with a series of red light mirror mazes which left me genuinely lost at one point. After the mirror mazes the scenery changes dramatically with the catacombs and caves of coffins and think another mirror section , I know there was a dark section as I genuinely had no idea where to go until one of the managers gave me a helping hand. The final scene if I remember correctly is a smoke filled rave where the vampires are dead set on getting one last drink, I exited looking for Dane and Abby and after meeting back up with them we all agreed it was the strongest maze of the night by far. Every cast member ran that attraction with professionalism and scare skill. We have no bad things to say about our run through Blutlust, as mazes go this one is close to perfection.

Finally it was time for our last attraction of the night The Witches of Hard Luck Wood. This year this attraction has done away with the hoods of the past and replaced that section with a glow stick, we had one between 3 which made the route a little difficult but not impossible, we first met a priest who told us to be careful of our route through the woods , this unfortunately would soon be lost on us as during the old hooded section we found very few actors to actually interact with, the route was fun enough through with varied floor styles and textures along the way with the occasional jump at random moments but nothing really to go into detail about. Coming to the end of the old hooded section the stand out scene was the laser swamp which delivered the brunt of the scares with the witches coming from out of the depths below with great effect to so kudos to those working this scene. There was some effective scares on our route to the outdoor section but sadly not quick enough to really startle us. I think in hindsight we should have started with this attraction first, the maze is not bad exactly , but it just pales in comparison to the likes of The Village and Blutlust. We entered the outdoor section and again not alot really happened sadly which lead us to the finale, this would work great as a distraction scare but there is not alot of space within to make that possible. The final cast member tried to deliver some dark and twisted narrative but was unfortunately was lost due to the speed the group moves through the scene. We are really sorry there wasn't much more we could write about this attraction and we will say the few actors we did see were trying to work hard at their roles, there just wasn't enough cast members on the night to make the maze more memorable. So that brings us to the end of our night at Xtreme Scream Park, Yes we had a bit of a bad run through the last attraction but that didn't take away from the rest of the night, Blutlust absolutely stole the show, the attraction is stunning, long and varied through the route and that run will remain with us for the years to come. We do want to give a huge thankyou to the cast and crew, You really was up against it tonight but you ALL powered through and delivered some amazing scares along the way despite fighting against the fast batching, again to be expected on a sell out night. If you wish to visit Xtreme Scream Park and we highly recommend you do just for Blutlust alone you can do so at the link below. https://www.xtremescreampark.co.uk/
