The Forgotten Corner Review 2026
We were very kindly gifted tickets to experience this years event, we retain editorial control of what the review says!
Our Slasher Review
The Forgotten Corner near Leyburn delivers another terrifying and entertaining scare experience, combining unexpected jump scares, comic improv and an atmospheric setting. Now in its third year, the event continues to impress with new characters, returning favourites and a cleverly reversed route that leaves even returning visitors feeling disorientated.
The experience is made especially immersive by allowing guests to explore in their own small groups, while the talented actors interact with, stalk and surprise visitors throughout. By building tension rather than relying solely on jump scares, The Forgotten Corner keeps guests on edge from beginning to end.
Overall, it’s a unique, brilliantly executed scare maze that balances genuine terror with humour, and one that’s become an unmissable annual tradition. We’re already looking forward to returning next year!

Our Stalker Review
Located near Leyburn lies a magical place full of twisting corridors, beautiful gardens and a magical sense of wonder. I am of course talking about The Forbidden Corner, but for a few nights a year this enchanted place gets taken over by evil and becomes The Forgotten Corner. Now in its third year, this scare event hasn’t been around that long but of course we had to return for our third visit.

We arrived and were greeted by a fortune teller who guided us to check in. We watched a safety video, which was very funny and then it was time to enter. What I love about Forgotten Corner is that you venture through in just your groups, so we went through as a two. It definitely makes the experience more intimate….. and terrifying. We were told to wait by a line and a pirate character flirted, intimidated and explained what we might find in there before sending us on our way where we bumped into Bartholomew who added some humour and sarcasm before the scares really started.

As we walked round, the scares came thick and fast. The place is naturally set up that they could just use jump scare after jump scare but they don’t. Instead they lure you into dropping your guard so when they do hit you with you a jump scare you’re screaming. Because of this, you become nervous about every corner, every door and every little sound. For those who have visited every year, this year has another trick up its sleeve to disorient you…. they have essentially changed the route! This really messed with our perceived comfort leading to us feeling more lost and confused. The route we had become used to was taken away and reversed.
This year also sees some new characters such as the prisoner and executioner as well as returning favourites in Mr Fungi and Mrs Harold (who now have their own social media presence if you fancy following). Every character you encounter really adds to the experience and has their own unique charm about them. You can tell that every actor loves working there and you get an individual experience by interacting with them too! We had scares coming from places that were truly unexpected including one where you are so caught up in what is going on that when another actor bursts out screaming at you unexpectedly you genuinely can’t help but be terrified. The actors will stalk you, they will pick on you, and set you up for their friends to get you… or steal you from your group!

Forgotten Corner has once again served scares and atmosphere in the most unique way possible and it’s an event that we simply can’t miss each year. It’s terrifying and will have you screaming. It blends unexpected scares with comic improv in a setting that is just built for a scare maze and the team behind the event should be extremely proud of what they have created.
We are already excited to visit next year!
