Boy you've been anything but glum. There has been so much news, updates and announcements happening that it made us decide that a news round up might be a good idea. Guaranteed we have probably forgotten something on this, but if we have, please let us know.


Theme Park News

  • The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead have approved plans for a new adventure golf attraction at Legoland Windsor.

  • Demolition of The Flume and Creek Freak Massacre is under way with footers also arriving at Thorpe Park ready for the construction of Project Exodus.

  • Lightwater Valley have started the removal of classic roller coaster The Ultimate.

  • Derren Brown's Ghost Train has been rethemed to Ghost Train

  • Drayton Manor's new managing director Victoria Lynn confirmed to Birmingham Live that a new family thrill coaster was in the works and would hopefully open in 2024

  • Drayton Manor reveal they are releasing annual passes.

  • Oakwood Theme Park have revealed a retrack of their classic wooden roller coaster Megafobia with plans for the first drop to even be done steeper.

  • Thorpe Park announce their event line up for 2023 with the return of all of last years events.

Scare Event News

  • Early bird tickets went on sale as part of Frday 13th celebrations for Tulleys Shocktober Fest, Psycho Path, Doncaster Fear Factory, Farmaaggedon, Terror Island, Yorkshire Scare Grounds, Xtreme Scream Park, Horror at Hinchingbrooke House and Scare Zone Northallerton.

  • Doncaster Fear Factory confirm a 5th attraction joining their line up for 2023.

  • Tulleys Shocktober Fest and the Howl announced Valentines early bird tickets.

  • Journey to Hell Freak Nights at Blackpool Pleasure Beach announces dates of this years event.

  • The Howl Scream Park is set to get a new attraction to replace The Attic that appears to have been removed from their website.

  • Tulleys Shocktober Fest up the age of the event to 16+

  • A new event for Cambridge has been announced in Scaretopia

  • Zombie Uprising announce two new events for 2023 in Containment and World War II Zombies

  • Bloodbath by ScreamWorks have announced a valentines special for 10 lucky couples.



Escape Room News

  • Unsolved Mysteries Escape Room announced a new escape room in The Basement.

  • Plantasia Tropical Zoo in Swansea has announced Jungle Escape and their first room is Rainforest Run. The escape room opens after the zoo closes and covers the whole zoo.

  • Project Escape Middlesbrough announced their new room Wild West Prison Break which opens 18th February

  • Houdini Escapes open two new venues in York and Southampton with two more under development in Crewe and Doncaster.



Other News

  • Punchdrunk's The Burnt City undergoes a cast change for 2023 as well as confirming an extended run until September.

  • Saint Jude, the new immersive show by Swamp Motel officially opens.
